Choosing Your Wax

There are different Wax Types to choose from. Starting from

Soy Wax, Beeswax, Paraffin Wax, coconut wax, palm wax and gel wax

Selecting the Right Wick

There are cotton, paper, zinc or tin wicks.

Wick Materials and sizes can impact the flame. Some give a slow, steady burn and others burn at a rapid pace. Twisted wicks have a looser structure and tend to burn the fuel faster as it reaches the flame and is of lower quality.

Essential Oils vs. Fragrance Oils

Essential oils are basically nature’s oils. Like these are really natural. Why? Well, they come directly from plants that are, of course, from nature. But the way these oils are extracted from plants (in its roots, flowers, buds) is very natural too; without the use of complicated laboratory-experiment-manipulation.

Fragrance oils, unlike essential oils, aren’t natural and these are developed and made in laboratories. Both synthetic and natural fragrance oils are made in laboratories and undergo chemical processes. But synthetic fragrance oils use materials and compounds which are also laboratory-made, in short artificial. Natural fragrance oils, on the other hand, use compounds that can come from nature but are processed and modified in the laboratory.

Infusing Intention

The Power of Candle Magic is charging your candle with energy of your intention. First, cleanse your space. Create a quiet space in your house and use palo santo or sage to cleanse the energy. Relax your body and mind.

Find a spot where your focus (and the candle) won't be disturbed. Clear the area of anything that doesn’t relate to your intention, and surround it with things that do. For example, an abundance manifestation could involve placing some dollar bills under the candle and some pyrite, or citrine crystals around it, along with a photo of who you see as the personification of abundance, or what you'd like to manifest nearby.

Safety techniques

Make sure you have potholders for handling pans and other hot equipment.

1. Use safety goggles when pouring wax into your vessels so that the wax doesn't splash into your eyes.

2. Wear appropriate clothing during the candle making process to prevent your skin from getting burned by any wax that may splash around when pouring and/or stirring.
